The SWDTP are on the lookout for enthusiastic and motivated SWDTP funded students to join our Student Reps team! We especially need reps from Bristol and Exeter to follow on from students who are completing this academic year.
We will be holding a Student Rep away day on 25th June and everyone is invited! Come along to chat to our current rep team and see if being a Rep is for you. Then enjoy a free lunch and join in with the challenge of getting out of an escape room!!
The main purpose of the role is to represent student interests to the SWDTP management, including attending the Academic Advisory Board, and being an advocate for student engagement, ensuring good communication of student issues across the DTP.
However it’s much more than that; a chance to really get involved in and shape the SWDTP now and into the future. You’ll also support student social events and have plenty of opportunity to input into strategy, induction days and other stuff such as our mentoring scheme.
The reps meet as a group around 4 or 5 times a year and as a student rep, you will also get to work with the SWDTP Collaboration Facilitator with additional training to help manage funds and assess applications for the Student Impact Fund.
So what’s in it for you?
1. The platform to make a positive contribution to the SWDTP and improving the student experience 2. A chance to practice and develop your leadership skills3. The opportunity to gain experience in peer reviewing 4. Free Impact training
5. The chance to meet and interact with your fellow students
Time contribution: usually between 10-15 hours a year. We expect activities to be shared across the team to keep involvement at reasonable levels.
All travel costs will be reimbursed
