Work Package 4: Gambling Harms – Annual Student Survey Analysis & Insight Report
Aim: Ygam conducts an annual student survey to better understand young people’s experiences, attitudes and behaviours relating to gaming, gambling, digital spending and associated harms. We would like a student researcher to help transform survey data into actionable insights.
Tasks:
– Review the survey dataset, questionnaire and previous reports.
– Conduct descriptive analysis of key findings and trends.
– Identify notable patterns, emerging themes and subgroup differences.
– Produce clear data visualisations and summary statistics.
– Interpret findings in the context of young people’s lived experiences and the wider digital environment.
– Support drafting an accessible report for internal and external audiences.
Deliverables:
– A concise annual survey report
– Executive summary
– Data visualisation pack
– List of emerging trends, risks and opportunities for Ygam.
– Recommendations for how findings could inform education programmes, resources, campaigns and future research.
Insight Translation
Challenge: Research findings only create impact when they are understood and used. Ygam would like students to help translate survey findings into engaging formats suitable for practitioners and young people.
Creative Task: Produce one or more knowledge mobilisation outputs based on the survey findings, such as: a one-page infographic, social media content concepts, a student-facing summary report, a conference poster, a webinar or presentation deck, a thought leadership article.
