Experience of applied social research. Depending on the skills and interests of the PhD candidate and the research opportunities we have available, projects might include:
• applied survey research e.g. helping to design and deliver our next online social survey
• data management and analysis e.g. using cross-sectional or longitudinal data from the JPR Research Panel
• community statistics – e.g. analysing HESA or mortality data
• methodological analysis, e.g. assessing the quality of our panel data, or using propensity score matching to adjust for selection bias by comparing the JPR Research Panel with national data sets such as Community Life.
This is an ongoing opportunity with no set application deadline.
