The SWDTP works closely with Bristol’s Professional Liaison Network (PLN), who connect students and academics from the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences with professionals and organisations.
The PLN’s objective is to create real-world experiences so students can apply their discipline outside the classroom. This enables students to understand the impact they can make with their degree and build the skills, insight, and networks that are needed to thrive after graduation.
If you are unsure of where to start with finding a placement, the PLN can support you by helping you find a suitable organisation that is tailored to your research interests, no matter which of our partner institutions you’re part of.
The Collaborative Research Hub was set-up by the PLN to support PhD students in finding the right organisation to partner with. The Hub’s mission is to promote knowledge exchange by organising student placements with external organisations to co-produce research projects focused on real-world challenges.
The Collaborative Research Hub works with a wide range of organisations including corporates, SMEs, startups, scaleups, social enterprises – and charitable organisations, community groups, and local, regional and national government.
If you would like more information on how the Collaborative Research Hub can support you, please contact Jiangee Ching j.ching@bristol.ac.uk
