Wednesday 26th November – Future Inns Bristol
The SWDTP Annual Student Conference is an event created for students, by students. It offers a unique environment for academic peers to come together, share their research and build relationships.
Our 2024 student conference kicked off with a wonderful presentation from our keynote speaker, Dr Morgana Lizzio Wilson on the lifecycle of social change and the varying factors which channel or inhibit that change. To find out more on this talk, check out the programme below. We share our thanks to Morgana who provided us with such an insightful presentation but also for her perseverance against the transport system on the day!

Following on from this lovely presentation, we had 12 independent presentations from PGRs within the Social Science community, ranging from virtual reality, activism, finance, the environment, healthcare and minority groups. We would like to thank the presenters for their hard work in delivering such inspiring presentations but also to the attendees for their engaging questions and curiosity on each topic.
For the final portion of the conference, we held three workshops which summarised the day and the conferences themes as a whole; imagining human futures, presenting your research in creative ways and how your research can impact policy. This was the perfect send off to a wonderful conference, encapsulating the themes and ideals of the conference in three sessions.
