Click here to read the University of Bristol‘s press release about a report by SWDTP student, Dan Godshaw.
Dan’s report- Don’t dump me in a foreign land: Immigration detention and young arrivers- comes from six months’ of interviews with detainees at Brook House Immigration Removal Centre and calls on the government to do more to offer support to young migrants. The report found that many detainees had felt isolated and let-down in their childhood, leading to the perpetration of crime and, eventually, deportation.
As mentioned in our newsletter, Dan was also invited to speak at the All Party Parliamentary Group on Refugees.
Congratulations, Dan, on all your great work! We look forward to seeing the impact of your research, helping to change people’s lives for the better!
